East Lancashire CCG continues to achieve NHS performance rating of “good” in NHS England national assessment

NHS East Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has achieved a performance rating of “good” in the NHS England assessment of its performance for 2017/18. The CCG has also achieved the highest rating (green) for the quality of its leadership and management of its finances.

The CCG is one of 7 of the 8 CCGs in Lancashire to achieve a coveted “green” rating, including neighbouring NHS Blackburn with Darwen CCG.  The rating puts NHS East Lancashire CCG in a top performing group of CCGs in the country

Mark Youlton, Chief Officer of NHS East Lancashire CCG said:

“I am really pleased with the performance of the CCG in another difficult and challenging year. The end of year assessment by NHS England involves a significant level of scrutiny and challenge and to achieve a rating of “good” is a great reflection on the work of our staff, and Clinicians, including member GP practices.  I also would like to thank patients, carers and our voluntary sector colleagues who help us ensure that the patient is at the heart of everything we do.

"We have continued our track record started in 2013/14 by being one of the best performing commissioning organisations nationally.

"We are also pleased that the vast majority of our providers continue to provide good quality care to the residents of East Lancashire.”

The CCG was rated “good” for its commissioning, and support of dementia and mental health services for patients.  NHS England also congratulated the CCG on its commitment to the development of the Pennine Lancashire Integrated Care Partnership and the positive leadership and involvement that the CCG has given to this.  The CCG has been recognised for its financial management having successfully delivered its financial plan again in 2017/18.
