It is not too late to protect yourself from flu

Health bosses from NHS East Lancashire and NHS Blackburn with Darwen Clinical Commissioning Groups are reminding those who are eligible for their free winter flu vaccines and boosters to visit their doctor or local pharmacy if they haven’t already done so. It is not too late to protect yourself from flu.

Don’t leave it too late to order your repeat prescriptions

With two weeks to go until Christmas, people with long term health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, lung and heart disease are being reminded not to leave it too late to get their repeat prescriptions.

Share your experiences of diabetes care to inform national review

People with diabetes aged 18–65 and living in the East Lancashire are being invited to share their experiences to inform a national review.

The Care Quality Commission – independent regulator of health and social care services in England, is carrying out a review to explore people’s experience of the support they receive from health professionals to manage their condition.

The review will also examine how well different health services work together to deliver high quality care for people with diabetes.

To share your experiences visit www.cqc.org.uk/content/diabetes-care-community-settings

The deadline for responses is the 4th January 2016.

The national report on the findings of the review will be published in Summer 2016.

Transforming Community Equipment Services

The 6 NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups of Lancashire together with Lancashire County Council have reviewed the arrangements for community equipment services (i.e. mobility aids, hoists, bed rails, commodes etc.) to improve the service and make it consistent throughout Lancashire.
