East Lancs CCG shortlisted for prestigious national award
The CCG has learned that the judges had a tough job scoring all the nominations, and they have commended the high quality of entries. The Health Service Journal award is coveted as one of the most prestigious awards for health service organisations and with over 1650 entries this year, the judging stage was considered by the judges to be very tough as entries were of such a very high calibre. With the highest number of entries received than ever before, it was a tough decision selecting the shortlist.
Dr Phil Huxley, Chair of the CCG, and local GP said:
“I am delighted that the CCG and our GP member practices have reached the shortlist stage of this prestigious award. To be shortlisted is a great achievement. Our job is to commission high quality, safe and sound health services for residents in East Lancashire, and to get on the shortlist is a testament to the work that everyone does to improve health care for patients in East Lancashire”.
Mark Youlton, Chief Finance Officer, said:
“Everyone who works for the CCG, our GPs and our partners are passionate about commissioning the very best services for patients and improving both the experience and outcomes of patient care in East Lancashire. The award is recognition of the work that everyone does to achieve this”
The next stage of the award scheme will involve a visit to the CCG by members of the judging panel in late September or early October, and a final presentation to the whole judging panel in November.
The award ceremony will take place on the 18th November.
