GPs sign up to improve cancer awareness and diagnosis.
The Macmillan Cancer Improvement Partnership is a three-year programme set up in 2014 to provide better care and support for cancer patients and improve the cancer mortality rate in Pennine Lancashire. Eighty-nine GPpractices and 400 GPs in the Pennine Lancashire area have signed up to improve cancer awareness and early diagnosis.
The partnership includes Macmillan Cancer Support, ourselves and NHS Blackburn with Darwen CCG, as well as Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust and Lancashire County Council. You can see the whole story on the Lancashire Telegraph website by clicking here.
