NHS East Lancashire CCG invites local residents to become a Patient Partner
With the responsibility of planning and buying the majority of health services for the East Lancashire population, NHS East Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) recognises that in order to achieve this, it is important local residents, patients and carers are involved.
Michelle Pilling, lay advisor at NHS East Lancashire CCG, said: “As a CCG we place great emphasis on building relationships with our local community in our day to day work, and to be most effective we recognise the need to reach and hear from as wide range of people from across East Lancashire as possible.
“Our Patient Partner scheme is an exciting new way which allows the public to have their say and influence decision–making on a whole range of health services that are important to people in East Lancashire. Patient Partners is an involvement scheme for people who are interested in sharing their views and experiences to help to develop and improve services locally.”
The main benefit of being a member is that you will receive personal invitations to get involved, tailored to your interests, so you get to hear about things that matter to you and also let your views be hear so that they can influence how the CCG commissions (plans and buys) health services locally.
You can join Patient Partners by going to our website at http://www.eastlancsccg.nhs.uk/get-involved/connect/ and completing an online form. Alternatively, or for further information, you can call Rashda Iqbal on 01282 644627.
