Vaccination Booster Team’s Big Boost for Hyndburn
A Hyndburn Covid Vaccination Booster team are celebrating a successful start to their covid vaccination booster effort with the completion of over 6,000 vaccinations delivered since they started on the 14th December.
Nigat Sultana, Chief Officer for East Lancashire Alliance which is the alliance of primary care networks in East Lancashire, said:
“We were given 24 hours to organise the 7 day step up clinic and I learned about this over the weekend. We worked at breakneck speed to assemble the team and set up the facility to offer vaccinations from 8.30am till 9pm, and we started on Tuesday 14th December. This was also the anniversary day of the Covid Vaccination Programme which started on 14th December 2020!. To date we have done over 6,000 vaccinations at Acorn since we started again on the 14th December.”
Dr Fiona Ford, Hyndburn GP and Chair of the East Lancashire Alliance said: “This is a phenomenal achievement! Our team of vaccinators are skilled and careful and we have received superb feedback that the clinic is efficient, and running like clockwork. People don’t have to wait long and the whole process is quick. The walk in and bookable vaccination service is based at the Acorn Centre in Accrington (Postcode BB5 1RT) and is offering vaccination and booster sessions throughout the festive season."
