New community website for Hyndburn
A website featuring a directory of services for Hyndburn residents is now live.
The website, which has been co-produced with members of the community in Hyndburn, provides people with links to services including mental health and dental services.
The website will also be able to support the GP care navigators who can identify relevant services to signpost patients to. Care Navigation is a new scheme being piloted in Hyndburn to help support and guide patients to access the most appropriate service for their needs.
The REAL Hyndburn website also identifies sources of local help and support in the area as well as local events and news updates from around Hyndburn.
Dr Richard Robinson, GP Clinical Lead for Hyndburn at East Lancashire CCG said:
“The Real Hyndburn website is a useful additional resource to support the self-care needs of people in Hyndburn. As a GP I see patients who could benefit from the information on the website and who don’t necessarily need to see a GP. What’s really great about this website is that it’s developed for the community by the community.”
The sections on the website include:
- Advocacy and politics
- Culture and heritage
- Education and training
- Faith and religious groups
- Local health services such as, GP surgeries, dentists and pharmacies
- Sport and recreation
- Support and welfare groups
The website was funded by NHS East Lancashire CCG and created by REAL (Rossendale Enterprise Anchor Limited) who is involved in developing organisations and services that support the Voluntary, Community and Faith Sectors (VCFS). They also created the REAL Rossendale website, which is a directory of services for people in Rossendale.
