  • Nearly £500,000 worth of investment in community groups in East Lancashire in 2014

  • The scheme has successfully supported investment in social prescribing or non-medical, social support across East Lancashire

  • Social prescribing complements the medical care and treatment that the CCG already commissions whether this is hospital treatment, GP care, community health services or health promotion.

  • The CCG appointed the BPR CVS and HRV CVS to independently oversee the funding process to ensure ownership and transparency of process

  • 40 projects were supported in the Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale area. 25 projects were funded in the Hyndburn and Ribble Valley area 

  • £294, 433 was invested in community and voluntary groups in Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale 

  • £155,080.58 was invested in community and voluntary groups in Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley

  • In 2015/16 the CCG budget is even more than last year – funding will be available for £750K worth of social prescribing support in the community across East Lancashire.
