Invite to score your local NHS
NHS East Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is looking for local people, community and support groups as well as NHS staff to participate in their Public Equality Delivery System (EDS) Grading Event.
The Public EDS grading is an assessment of the CCG’s approach to Equality and Inclusion over the year 2016. It is used to help the CCG be the best that it can be in promoting Equality and Inclusion in commissioning NHS services.
Out of 18 EDS outcomes, the CCG has identified 4 to be assessed. These are:
Goal 1: Better health outcomes
• 1.1 Services are commissioned, procured, designed and delivered to meet the health needs of local communities
• 1.2 Individual people’s health needs are assessed and met in appropriate and effective ways
Goal 2: Improved patient access and experience
• 2.2 People are informed and supported to be as involved as they wish to be in decisions about their care
• 2.4 People’s complaints about services are handled respectfully and efficiently
Michelle Pilling, NHS East Lancashire CCG’s Governing Body deputy chair with a responsibility for patient and public involvement, said: “We constantly work to make improvements to our services for everyone in the East Lancashire area. Patients and members of the public can assist us in doing that by helping us to review and challenge the information that we have, such as our commissioning and quality strategies, and projects around the re-design of local health services. We really want local residents to take part in this.”
The grading event is taking place on Monday 7th November between 9.30 and 3pm at the CCG headquarters - Walshaw House, Regent Street, Nelson, BB9 8AS. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
