CCG Macmillan Coffee Morning with Celebrity Chef Gill Watson

In support of Macmillan Cancer, East Lancashire CCG held a Macmillan Coffee morning on the 28th September, with a bake off style competition judged by celebrity chef Gill Watson, and raised £390.93 for the charity.

The World's Biggest Coffee Morning is the biggest annual fundraising event for people facing cancer. Every year, Macmillan Cancer invites workplaces across the UK to get involved and host their own Coffee Mornings with donations on the day made to Macmillan. Last year £25 million was raised.

East Lancashire CCG commissions local health services across Burnley, Hyndburn, Pendle, Ribble Valley (excluding Londgride) and Rossendale.  The CCG are passionate about improving cancer care and wanted to show their support to Macmillan by joining the many organisations across the country in hosting a coffee morning.

Employees at East Lancashire CCG brought in homemade cakes to be tasted by Gill, with the winning cakes then put up for auction.  There were two joint winners, the pistachio cake by Corporate Administration Manager, Anne MacLeod and the Lime Meringue by Hyndburn Locality Manager, Rachel Watkin.  Both cakes were auctioned off and a raffle was also held.  A total of £390.93 was raised from the event.
