Advocacy in Lancashire: n-compass northwest

n-compass advocacy service provides free, independent and confidential support to individuals living within the Lancashire County Council area. They support individuals to voice their views, needs and wishes, empowering them to gain confidence and be able to speak up for themselves and understand their options and rights in relation to health or social care services.

Health Complaints Advocacy

n-compass advocacy service supports children, young people and adults to make a complaint or raise a concern about treatment or services provided by the Health Service. This support can be provided at any point in the complaints process from raising a complaint informally/formally to accessing the Ombudsman. They provide instructed and non-instructed support with this service. Some examples of issues they can provide support with include; treatment problems/issues, care provided attitudes of staff, misdiagnosis or failure to diagnose, waiting times, lack of communications or information.

Generic Advocacy

n-compass advocacy service also provides generic advocacy support to adults (18+) in accessing or dealing with the health or social care services. Some examples of issues we can support with include; accessing a social services or health assessment, appointments with health care professionals, complaints about social services, social services care review for you, a child or family member. They also have a number of volunteering opportunities available within n-compass advocacy service such as; supporting and empowering people to have their voice heard, attendance and organisation of promotional events and administrative tasks.
