Join Care Homes across East Lancashire and celebrate friendship in communities

Care Homes across East Lancashire will be taking part in Care Home Open Day on 16 June to celebrate ‘Friendship’ in local communities.

Many care homes across the country will be opening their doors for Care Home Open Day and they will be welcoming the public to spend time with residents, meet the staff and get involved in events and activities around the home.

Care Home Open Day is a UK wide initiative inviting care homes to open their doors to their local communities. This year's Care Home Open Day is focusing on 'Friendship' and the importance of connecting with local communities and developing lasting relationships.

Adele Thornburn, Nursing & Quality Manager, said: “Every neighbourhood has a care home which provides care and support to our elders and we are lucky to have some fantastic nursing and residential care homes that have greatly contributed in many ways to our communities. Care Home Open Day is a great opportunity to visit care homes in your area, meet staff and residents and get involved, so do please support your local care homes.”

Care homes are encouraged to celebrate friendships that have developed between residents, families, friends and staff, as well as with their neighbours, to reinforce how they should be an integral part of their local community.

• Bank Hall Care Home (Burnley)
• Castleford HfOP (Clitheroe)
